\"Design and expression in the portrait\"<\/i><\/b><\/h2>\n

This workshop is part of a bilogy that Nicol\u00e1s Uribe will teach in Madrid. Although students can choose to attend one of the workshops independently, they are designed to complement each other.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Portrait is formally and historically associated with a faithful representation of the model. But more expressive possibilities can be explored when starting from an act of acute observation, and then translating those structural forms into dynamic compositions that provide a broader character to the definition of Portrait. \nIn this workshop we will explore the limits to which we can reach in this essential search of the person portrayed, going through the investigation of chromatic relationships between the selected color harmonies, as well as the disposition, proportion and \/ or distortion of the volumetric structures that give three-dimensionality to the form. The final intention of all this is not only to describe the person portrayed from a naturalistic consideration but t make sure through pictorial decisions, a sensitive attitude based on our perception<\/p>\n
