First week Module I<\/b><\/p>\n

Form and its evolution in painting<\/p>\n

Exercises will be centered about creating a convincing illusion of light and articulated form. The origins of forms, privilege as originating in perspective, will be discussed as well as the optics of illumination from Baroque painting to Modern approaches like Malevich, Beekman and DeKooning..<\/p>\n

Second week Module II<\/b><\/p>\n

Color and its evolution in painting<\/p>\n

The second week will be about color, from its denigration\u00a0 <\/span>before Delacroix to its triumph in modernity.Theory related to optical \u201ctruth\u201d and symbolic \u201cmeaning\u201d will be discussed.\u00a0<\/span>Students will be asked to create a work emphasizing color over form. This will be based on their first project as a complimentary task.<\/p>\n

Exercises & Feedback<\/b><\/p>\n

In both modules, specific exercises will be proposed to grasp the essential concepts that will be developed during the live online sessions.\u00a0 <\/span>You will have 5 days after each module to work on your own studio and at the end you will upload your work to our website School visual Platform.\u00a0 <\/span>There, you will interact and receive feedback from the teacher and other participants for you to learn also from your classmates work and exchange comments with them.<\/p>\n
